In EBSCO's cookie policy, it states,"EBSCO Information Services and our third-party service providers may use cookies to collect information about your use of our Websites... We may also use cookies from third parties for marketing purposes (such as interest-based online advertising)." This confirms the use of third party cookies and its purpose of advertising to the user. This is further supported by a detailed summary of the site's use of Performance Cookies seen here: "[Performance cookies] are used to deliver advertising that is relevant to your interests...This information may be shared with organizations outside of EBSCO Information Services’, such as advertisers and/or advertising networks." This clearly states that cookies are used for advertising and may be shared to third parties.
