The state of Utah has neither particularly good nor particularly bad consumer privacy laws. They require data breach notifications through the Protection of Personal Information Act. However, unless you are a student covered by the Utah Student Privacy Act, there are few other extra protections, since Utah failed to pass legislation that guaranteed users more rights over data and the ability to opt-out.
