You must actively opt-out of any marketing and non-transactional communications you receive from Cloudant by clicking the "unsubscribe" link on the bottom of the email. You can't opt-out of receiving emails related to transactions you have with clouding. They also say that it is not always possible to completely remove or modify information in their subscription databases.
