I hope this message finds you well. I came across your profile on Linkedin whilst searching for people who work in Google's HR department. I had come across two job openings on Google's website but it has been my experience that when searching for jobs it is best to connect with a person at a company rather than going through the automated resume submission.
There are two openings, both within the Legal & Government Relations Team, at Google I am interested in: The first is as a Legal Assistant in the Global Ethics and Compliance group (http://www.google.com/about/jobs/locations/mountain-view/legal-public-policy/legal-assistant-global-ethics-and-compliance-mountain-view.html) and the second in Online Legal Support (http://www.google.com/about/jobs/locations/mountain-view/legal-public-policy/legal-assistant-online-legal-support-mountain-view.html).
I believe I am qualified for both Jobs. I have a law degree which has taught me to rigorously analyze legal issues and communicate them succinctly orally and verbally. I have always been interested how technological innovation influences the development of laws and regulations. During law school I wrote a research paper discussing how Google's technology is outside the realm of traditional business models, and traditional taxation methods based upon these, which subsequently enables Google to minimize its tax rate significantly. This research paper, which was a major component of the coursework, led me to receive the highest grade for the course and I believe it illustrates my interest in the topic and Google.
I am interested in working for Google for a number of different reasons. As previously mentioned, Google's world-changing technology is one of the main reasons but Google's corporate culture is also very appealing to me. Google's embrace of global, open-information, democratic ideals in it's corporate mission statement, coupled with the do no evil mantra makes it a very attractive employer.
Furthermore, I have a very international background. I am bilingual in English and German; I have studied and worked in both languages, please see my resume for more details. Additionally, having moved to different countries has helped me develop insights into cultural differences and a flexibility to thrive and learn quickly under various diverse circumstances. I believe this qualifies me well for the second job in Online Legal Support.
I work well in high-pressure and team environments and have a track record of being very diligent and detail oriented. Please feel free to contact any of my references.
I have recently relocated to the Bay Area and I'm searching for employment opportunities beginning immediately. I'm a legal resident of the U.S. and do not require and work permit/visa sponsorship.
Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Kind Regards,
Andi
