We recommend that if you are using our web hosting services to process personal data, then all web traffic should be encrypted using HTTPS instead of normal (unencrypted) HTTP. We offer free HTTPS encryption with industry standard algorithms and certificates for all our web hosting packages, but you may have to turn it on yourself in the control panel.

Likewise, we recommend that, whenever technically possible, if you are transferring personal data to or from our hosting servers using the FTP protocol or reading email using POP or IMAP, that you use the encrypted (SSL/TLS enabled) variants of these protocols. Domainnameshop supports both encrypted and unencrypted data transfer, but you yourself must make sure that the client software you are using has been configured to use SSL/TLS encryption.

If you store passwords, then we recommend that, whenever technically possible, these are stored in an encrypted or hashed form instead of in cleartext.
