Hello,
I am working at Strava as an Engineer and care a lot about Data Privacy, I use TOSDR since many years and would like to update my company rating because I believe we do better now.
We worked the two last years on empowering citizens regarding the use of their data by raising awareness about it: adding data sharing consent settings and tutorials.
About "Your identity is used in ads that are shown to other users" specifically, we have updated our TOS: https://www.strava.com/legal/terms
Now: "You may adjust settings to prevent your profile name and profile photo from appearing in an ad."
Tutorial: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015573312
I believe then that it is explicitly optional for end-users to share their personal data to other users. It is a feature they can enable/disable while being onboarded on the app or anytime in their settings.
Happy to discuss it more if wished :) Thanks for making TOSDR,
SlevinWAT.
