This policy follows consensus and/or guidelines set by global functionaries. All WikiTide users should follow it, and changes made to it should be discussed on the talk page. In the event of any differences in meaning between the original English version and a translation, the original English version takes precedence.
Shortcut:
ToU
Effective Date of this policy: This policy became effective on June 20, 2023.
1. Terms
By accessing this website, you are agreeing to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions of Use, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site. The materials contained in this website are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.
2. Copyright Violations
By using services provided by WikiTide, you agree not to host any content without explicit permission from the copyright holder or any other legal entitlement to use the content. This applies to both private and public Wikis. Any repeated infringement of copyright may result in the termination of a user's account, wikis, or other appropriate legal actions.

In the event of unauthorized copyrighted material being found, you may report the contents to us via sre@wikiforge.net. We strive to comply with the provisions outlined in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) of the United States, which addresses copyright infringement on the internet. As the enforcement action and liability generally lie with the copyright holder under Section 512 of the DMCA, we hold no obligation to act on copyright requests unless requested by the copyright holder. WikiTide will act on complaints if it determines an unreasonable or unacceptable delay in handling non-legal requests to protect creative rights.
3. Privacy
You agree to read and accept WikiTide's Privacy Policy, as well as the user rights and recourse documented therein.
4. Disclaimer
The materials on WikiTide's website are provided "as is". WikiTide makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties, including without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights. Further, WikiTide does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its Internet website or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site.
5. Limitations
In no event shall WikiTide or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on WikiTide's Internet site, even if WikiTide or a WikiTide authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.
6. Revisions and Errata
The materials appearing on WikiTide's website could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. WikiTide does not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete, or current. WikiTide or its users may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice. WikiTide does not, however, make any commitment to update the materials.
7. Content
Under no circumstances are you permitted to submit information to WikiTide which is illegal to display, distribute, or disseminate in the United States.
8. Access Restrictions
WikiTide may modify, restrict, or prohibit your access to WikiTide services and Wikis at any time under WikiTide's sole discretion. Common reasons include:

Sending enough requests to WikiTide servers to degrade the service of others. or

Conducting any activity on WikiTide which is illegal under the laws of the jurisdiction outlined in section 11. or

Excessive violation of this or other WikiTide policies;

Wikis hosted by WikiTide may modify, restrict, or prohibit your access to their respective Wikis under their respective policies.
9. Hosting
This section applies to people who run or manage Wikis hosted on the WikiTide service or have applied to do so. These people are typically called "bureaucrats", "sysops", or "administrators", but herein refers to anyone who holds a similarly privileged role on a Wiki.
9a. Providing Service
WikiTide may, at its discretion, provide you with a Wiki within which you can place content. You agree that these Terms create no obligation to continue service for your Wiki. You also understand that donation to WikiTide does not imply an in-kind contract to provide service. You agree to let WikiTide personnel access your Wiki's content, change your Wiki's configuration, and remove or modify content in violation of WikiTide policy, for the purpose of providing service and subject to our Privacy Policy.
9b. Content
If you create or administrate a wiki on WikiTide, you are expected to ensure that your wiki complies with the Content Policy. You acknowledge that wikis that repeatedly violate this policy are subject to suspension, removal, and/or deletion by WikiTide.
9c. Extensions and Customization
As part of your service, you may request that WikiTide install additional extensions to the MediaWiki software to alter your Wiki's functionality. WikiTide will review the extensions to ensure that they are appropriate for our overall security and will function within our technical limits. WikiTide is not responsible for any data loss occurring as the result of extensions or software customization requested by users, and you agree not to hold WikiTide or its agents liable for any damages resulting from the use of these extensions.

Any customization you make to your wiki must comply with WikiTide's Privacy Policy.
9d. Termination
If the administrative staff of a wiki wishes to leave WikiTide and terminate hosting, or if a wiki is removed from service, WikiTide will provide data dumps of a wiki's content. These content archives will be maintained as long as it is legally, financially, or technically feasible to do so, at WikiTide's discretion. WikiTide may also permanently delete wiki content at the request of its administrators. You agree that any wiki you create is subject to our Dormancy Policy, and may be deleted due to inactivity.
10. Links
WikiTide has not reviewed all of the sites linked and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by WikiTide. Use of any such linked website is at the user's own risk.
11. Jurisidiction
Any claim relating to WikiTide's website shall be governed by the laws of the United States, specifically the state of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
12. Site Terms of Use Modifications
WikiTide may revise these terms of use for its website at any time without prior notice. By using this website you are agreeing to be bound by the then-current version of these Terms and Conditions of Use.
13.
