Community Guidelines <p>Independent Political Report seeks to deliver objective coverage of America’s third parties, including but not limited to the Libertarian, Green, and Constitution Parties, as well as independent candidates and similar groups such as the Democratic Socialists of America.
To that end, we ask that all commenters follow certain guidelines to keep IPR a welcoming and engaging community for conversation.</p>
<strong>Civility</strong>
<p>We believe that a healthy awareness and mature discussion of the candidates seeking to influence our institutions strengthens us as individuals and makes our own voices more effective.
To accomplish that goal we insist that commenters be civil toward each other while discussing topics on all IPR properties, including on our social media accounts.
Robust discussion is good.
Using abusive language or calling people names is unacceptable.</p>
<strong>Solicitation</strong>
<p>Independent Political Report strives to deliver discussions free from outside advertising.
Spam posts or advocacy of illegal activities are in general not allowed.
Please refrain from blatant advertising, fundraising, or the marketing of any type of spam comments.</p>
<strong>Copyright Concerns</strong>
<p>Independent Political Report will respond to allegations of copyright violations in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
The DMCA provides a process for a copyright owner to give notification to an online service provider concerning alleged copyright infringement.
When a valid DMCA notification is received, Independent Political Report will respond under this process by taking down the offending content.

<strong>Consequences</strong>
<p>Individuals who violate these community guidelines will be treated in proportion to the offense.
Persons who verbally attack the owner or administrative staff will have their posting privileges revoked.
Repeated violations may result in additional corrective measures, including a restriction on being able to make comments.
We reserve the right to remove or reject comments at our sole discretion.</p>
