Blog Users.</b> You become a user of our askzeta.com website simply by visiting any of the website’s pages or blog. This includes identifying information, such as your name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number, and, if you transact business with us, financial information such as your payment method (valid credit card number, type, expiration date, or other financial information). We also may collect information about your interests and activities, your gender and age, your financial life and or other demographic data.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Zeta Guide &amp. Worksheet Users.</b> If you choose to use Zeta’s free educational guides or worksheets, we may collect personal financial information such as income, expenses, credit scores, and/or debt information in addition to the information mentioned above.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Zeta's Money Manager Web and Mobile Apps</b>. If you create a Zeta Money Manager account, we’ll collect information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, relationship status, date of birth, email, address, and phone number, which is personally identifiable information. If you choose to connect a bank account to Zeta, we will have additional access to your financial data including transaction information, account balances, and other information about you and your bank that may be available. When using our app, our servers automatically store your usage data so we can improve your experience.&nbsp. This data may include information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the web page that you were visiting before accessing Zeta, the pages or features of Zeta which you browsed and the time spent on those pages or features, the links on Zeta that you clicked on and other statistics. If you opt into Face or Touch ID, we might also collect information about your faceprint and fingerprints.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Zeta's Joint Card and Joint Account Mobile Apps.</b> In the course of opening a Zeta Joint Card and Joint Account, we may collect information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, social security number, date of birth, home address, email address, and phone number. If any traditional identifier you provide at enrollment is mistaken or otherwise unverifiable, Zeta may collect your correct Personal Information from an identity service and ask you to verify it. In the course of your use of the Services, you may correct or update your information collected at account opening. In certain circumstances, Zeta may require that you provide, in addition to the information above, the following identifying information: government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport. photographs of you. and proof of address documentation, such as a utility bill. Additionally, if you contact Zeta via a social media platform, Zeta may collect your social media handle from the social network or from a social media analytics tool.</p> <p>We may collect information about you from other sources for various business purposes, including to provide you with any services you request or to help us comply with our legal obligations. Zeta collects this information in order to provide the Services and send you related communications. analyze individual and aggregated behavior to improve and customize the Services. verify your identity. comply and support our bank partners’ compliance with applicable law, including anti-money laundering (“AML”) and sanctions screening rules. prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, hacking, infringement, or other suspected or actual misconduct, crime, or violation of an agreement involving the Services. send you announcements, newsletters, promotional materials, and other information about the Services and third-party products and services that we think may be of interest to you. process and deliver promotion (including contests and sweepstakes) entries and rewards. collect fees and other amounts owed in connection with the Services. comply with obligations to tax authorities. diagnose and debug our technical systems. and log and store this information.</p> <p>In addition to personally-identifiable information, Zeta also collects financial information that enables it to establish a customer deposit account with its banking partner, Piermont Bank. That information&nbsp. includes your Zeta Joint Card, Zeta Joint Account, and other bank account numbers, debit card and credit card numbers, and transaction history.&nbsp;</p> <p>Lastly, use of this Service may also include any employment information you have provided. This can include any information you provide when setting up direct deposit or receiving your paycheck via direct deposit into your Zeta Joint Account.</p> <p>Your financial information, personally-identifying information, and other information required to open a Zeta Joint Card and Joint Account through Piermont Bank (collectively, “Customer Deposit Account Data”) are jointly collected by Zeta and it's banking partners, each of which have equal and independent access to and ownership of this data.&nbsp. This policy outlines how Zeta handles your Customer Deposit Account Data but does not control how Piermont treats your Customer Deposit Account Data. Please refer to the Zeta-Piermont Joint Account Agreement and Piermont Bank Privacy Policy for information concerning your privacy rights with respect to Piermont Bank's treatment of your Customer Deposit Account Data.</p> <p> </p> <p> <i>How We Use Your Personal Information</i> </p> <ul> <li> <p>To verify your identity for purposes of providing you access to certain areas and features of the website and/or the web and mobile apps;</p> </li> <li> <p>To develop and display content on the website and the web and mobile apps,&nbsp. the guide and the worksheet tailored to you;</p> </li> <li> <p>For users of our online worksheet, to review your financial information to help customize the guide to you and to communicate with you;</p> </li> <li> <p>For users of our web or mobile apps, to help you track and manage your finances on a monthly basis</p> </li> <li> <p>For users of our Joint Account to help you open, maintain and manage the money within your account;</p> </li> <li> <p>For users who connect an external bank account through a third-party secure access tool such as Plaid, to facilitate a transfer to a Zeta partner bank or surface balances;</p> </li> <li> <p>For users who set up direct deposit, for us to improve and customize our Services. comply and support our bank partner’s compliance with applicable law or send you announcements about our Services</p> </li> <li> <p>For users of our coaching, to help provide relevant help on how to manage your money;</p> </li> <li> <p>For users who interact with our customer services, such as in-app chat, email, phone or website;</p> </li> <li> <p>To send you administrative communications and other notifications;</p> </li> <li> <p>To send you marketing communications about Zeta services, company developments and news, or about other third-party products or services that you may be interested in;</p> </li> <li> <p>To perform research and analysis about your use of our website, apps and services, and your potential interest in different products or services that could be offered by us or others;</p> </li> <li> <p>For customer service, by responding to any questions you have if you contact us;&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>For any other purpose disclosed at the time you provide Personal Information or otherwise with your consent.</p> </li> <li> <p>To enforce our terms and conditions. and</p> </li> <li> <p>To manage our business.</p> </li> </ul> <p>If you choose not to provide certain Personal Information to us, your use of the Zeta's website or web or mobile apps, guide or worksheet, your access to these Services may be substantially limited.</p> <p> </p> <p> <i>Other Types of Information We Collect And Use</i> </p> <p> <b>Usage Information</b>. When you visit and navigate through the Zeta website or our web and mobile apps, we or our third-party service providers use a variety of technologies that automatically collect certain information about your equipment and browsing activity. The information collected may include your browser type, device type, operating system, application version, access times, the webpages you visited, the links you click, and your use of other features or functionality on the website. This information helps us keep the Zeta website and/or apps fresh and interesting to you and allows us to tailor content to your interests.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Device Identifier Information.</b> We also automatically collect your IP address or other unique identifier for the device used (computer, mobile phone, tablet, or other device) to access the Zeta website or web and mobile apps. We may use this information to, among other things, administer the website, help diagnose problems with our servers, analyze trends, track users’ webpage movements, help identify users’ interests, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Log Data.</b> We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Cookies.</b> A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of a device used to visit the Zeta website or web and mobile apps. We or our third-party service providers use cookies for a variety of reasons, including for security purposes, to facilitate site navigation, to perform analytics, and to personalize your experience while visiting the website (such as allowing us to select content that is most likely to appeal to you, based on your interests, preferences, location, or demographic information).&nbsp;</p> <p>Because an industry-standard Do-Not-Track protocol has not yet been established, our information collection practices will continue to operate as described in this Privacy Notice regardless of any “Do Not Track” signals that may be sent by certain browsers. However, you may refuse to accept cookies in order to prevent tracking activities by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. Please refer to your browser’s tools or help menu for instructions on how to disable cookies. If you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain features of the Zeta website.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Pixel Tags.</b> Pages of the Zeta's website and our web and mobile apps, and promotional and other emails that we send to you, may contain pixel tags, which are small electronic files that allow us to track the number of users who have visited specific pages of the website, downloaded a particular document, or opened a Zeta email. This information helps us to determine, among other things, the popularity of certain content.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Protected Class Information.</b> Zeta does not generally collect information relating to your status as a member of a protected class under federal or California law. However, Zeta does collect and disclose your date of birth for the purposes applicable to traditional identifiers, described above. Your date of birth necessarily indicates whether you are a member of the protected class of persons age 40 or older, but Zeta does not use or share the fact that you belong to this group for any purpose.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Other Technologies.</b> We may use third-party technology such as Google Analytics to analyze visitor traffic to and track activity on our website and social media pages. You can opt out of Google Analytics by downloading an opt-out browser add-on directly from Google.</p> <p>We do not collect Personal Information from you through these automatic information collection technologies.</p> <p> </p> <b>2. WE DO NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Authorized Third-Party Service Providers.</b> We share your Personal Information with authorized third-party service providers that perform business-related functions on our behalf, including but not limited to pulling and displaying financial information from your financial institutions for you to view through our website or mobile apps, supporting website functionality, and conducting research and data analysis for us. These service providers have access to your Personal Information only as needed for them to provide services on our behalf and are not permitted to use your Personal Information for any other purpose.</p> <p>We use Plaid Technologies, Inc. (“Plaid”) to gather user data from financial institutions. By using our service, you grant Zeta and Plaid the right, power, and authority to act on your behalf to access and transmit your personal and financial information from the relevant financial institution. You agree to your personal and financial information being transferred, stored, and processed by Plaid in accordance with the Plaid Privacy Policy.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Our Affiliated Companies.</b> We may share your Personal Information with our affiliated companies, as permitted by law for their research and analysis. Your Personal Information will not be used by our affiliated companies to market directly to you or to establish your creditworthiness or eligibility for products or services that they may offer. For California residents, we will only share your Personal Information with our affiliated companies as permitted by law and, if the law requires us to obtain your consent or give you the opportunity to opt out of some types of sharing, we will do so before engaging in that type of sharing.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Business Transfers.</b> We may share your Personal Information with another entity as a result of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale or other change of control of our business. In the event that such a transaction occurs, your Personal Information may be part of the assets transferred to the other entity.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Bank Partners.</b> When you use certain features of the Services, we collect information related to your Zeta Joint Account and Zeta Joint Card and may share this with our partner bank, Piermont Bank. Please refer to the Terms &amp. Conditions of your Zeta Joint Account here for information concerning those products and your privacy rights with respect to those products.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Legal and Regulatory Purposes.</b> We may share your Personal Information with third parties to comply with a legal obligation. when we believe in good faith that the law or a governmental authority requires it. to enforce our Terms of Use or other agreements. to address suspected fraud or other wrongdoing. to respond to an emergency. or to otherwise protect the rights, property or safety of our employees or others. and as may otherwise be permitted by law.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Data that is Not Personal Data</b>. We may create aggregated, de-identified or anonymized data from the Personal Data we collect, including by removing information that makes the data personally identifiable to a particular member. We may use such aggregated, de-identified or anonymized data and share it with third parties for our lawful business purposes, including to analyze, build and improve the Services and promote our business, provided that we will not share such data in a manner that could identify you.</p> <p> <b> </b> </p> <p> <b>At Your Direction or With Your Consent</b>. Disclosure of Personal Information</b> <p> <b> </b> </p> <p> <i>Selling Your Personal Information</i> </p> <p>Zeta does not and will not sell anyone’s Personal Information to third parties.</p> <p> </p> <p> <i>Minor’s Personal Information</i> </p> <p>Zeta does not sell or disclose the Personal Information of minors under 16 years of age regardless of any affirmative authorization by that minor or their parent or guardian.</p> <p> </p> <p> <i>Disclosure of Your Personal Information</i> </p> <p>In general, Zeta discloses each category of Personal Information for the same purpose it is collected. The information provided for each category described in Section 1, “Information We Collect,” therefore describes in detail the categories of Personal Information Zeta discloses, for what business purpose, and to whom. In addition, Zeta may disclose certain categories of your Personal Information in specific circumstances such as when interacting with referrals, legal disclosures (when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or if a government requests it), business transfers or with your permission.</p> <p> </p> <b>4. Your Choices</b> <p> <b> </b> </p> <p> <b>Not to Use Certain Features. You</b> can control the Personal Information that you provide to us. However, certain Personal Information is required by us in order for you to create an online account on the Zeta website or web or mobile apps. As a result, you will not be able to take advantage of some features of the Zeta if you choose not to provide us with your Personal Information.&nbsp;</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Update Your Personal Information.</b> If your Personal Information such as your email address changes, you can update the information in the following ways:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Zeta Joint Card requires information changes to be handled directly through the mobile app.</p> </li> <li> <p>All other information can be changed directly on your profile within our web and mobile apps or by emailing us at support@askzeta.com.</p> </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> <b>Opt Out of Sharing.</b> Federal law gives you the right to limit the sharing of your Personal Information in certain circumstances with our affiliated companies and other nonaffiliated third parties. State laws may provide you with additional rights. However, we do not share your Personal Information in any way that affords you the right to opt out of the sharing. Consistent with the commitments set forth in this Privacy Notice, if any sharing that we do of your Personal Information will require us to provide you the option to opt-out or opt-in to the information sharing, we will provide you with this option in advance of the sharing.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Not to Receive Marketing Emails.</b> We will use your name and email address to send Zeta-related promotional emails to you. You can direct us to stop sending you promotional emails by following the “unsubscribe” instructions included in a Zeta-related promotional email you receive. Your opt-out request will be processed within 30 days of the date on which we receive it. Opting out of receiving promotional emails will not affect your ability to continue to receive other service-related, non-promotional emails from Zeta, which you will not be able to opt-out from.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Delete or Closing Your Account.</b> You can request to be removed from our systems or close your account by clicking "REMOVE ACCOUNT" from your Zeta profile. After you delete your account, you will not be able to log into the Zeta website, apps or access any of your Personal Information. While we will work to remove your information from our systems, it is not always possible to completely remove or delete all of your Personal Information without having some residual data remain on our systems for some time. Also, if we shared your information with any third parties as described in this Privacy Notice, those companies are not required to delete your information. You can open a new account at any time.&nbsp;</p> <p>There may be certain instances in which we will retain your Personal Information.&nbsp. Those instances may include but are not limited to providing you services, complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, preventing fraud or as otherwise permitted under law. Security of Your Information</b> <p>We take information security seriously and use reasonable security measures, including employing certain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards, to help protect the Personal Information that we collect or you may provide to us. We restrict access to your Personal Information to authorized employees for permitted business purposes only and require our third-party service providers to protect your Personal Information and use it exclusively for the purpose of performing certain business functions on our behalf.</p> <p>However, no electronic data transmission or storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Although we take steps to secure your information, we cannot ensure or promise that the information you transmit to us will remain secure.</p> <p>You need to maintain the confidentiality of your Personal Information too. You should be careful in how you share your Personal Information with others and avoid sending your Personal Information through unsecure, unencrypted email. You also should not provide your username and password to the Zeta website or apps to others. If you become aware of any suspicious activity associated with your online account on the askzeta.com website, contact us immediately at support@askzeta.com.</p> <p>We retain Personal Data about you for as long as you have an open account with us or as otherwise necessary to provide you with our Services. In some cases we retain Personal Data for longer, if doing so is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes or collect fees owed, or is otherwise permitted or required by applicable law, rule or regulation. We may further retain information in an anonymous or aggregated form where that information would not identify you personally.</p> <p> </p> <b>6. Social Media and Third-Party Sites</b> <p>We may share aggregated information and non-identifying information with our social media platforms or with third parties for industry research and analysis and other similar purposes. Children's Online Privacy</b> <p>Our website, web and mobile apps, and services are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone younger than 13 years of age.
